Gary was honoured to be asked to write an article for the Autumn edition of "Portrait" the magazine of the National Portrait Gallery. The editor Stephen Phillips asked Gary to write the piece titled "Why Portraiture" for the Observation Point page.
Accompanying the article is a recent work of Gary's titled "The Art Lovers - Noah and Savannah". Noah and Savannah are siblings, Noah is a student of the National Art School with photographic work already in private collections his sister Savannah is a prolific drawer with a prodigious creative talent. The siblings are second cousins to the late Australian artist Adam Cullen.
Gary has had a long association with The National Portrait Gallery with three works in the permanent collection as well as being a finalist in the National Photographic Portrait Prize seven times. He was honoured in 2014 with a commission to make a portrait of Australian Rugby Union legend Ken Catchpole.
