National Portrait Gallery Acquisition

The National Portrait Gallery has acquired seven works from Gary's exhibition Art-Maker, Patron, Lover. The acquisition included a portrait of Artist Adam Cullen which was made the morning after Adam won the Archibald Prize in 2000. Other works include the 2011 portraits of Artists JiaWei Shen and Lan Wang along with the 2009 portrait of Brian Sherman AM and the 2014 portrait of Dr Gene Sherman AM. The NPG also selected Gary's 2014 portrait of Dr John Yu AC and his 2015 portrait of philanthropist Patrick Corrigan AM.

Gary would like to thank Robert Gatto and Luke McCormac from Kayell Australia for their help, support and generosity with the production of Art-Maker, Patron, Lover. Also Amarisco for their beautiful framing of the exhibition.

This acquisition by the National Portrait Gallery was made possible with the generosity and philanthropy of Patrick Corrigan and Gene Sherman.
